GORE fibers are composed of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). PTFE is an inert material that is insensitive to salt water, all chemicals, and UV light. GORE has a very low coefficient of friction, which gives this braid superior abrasion resistance, reduced noise and vibration, and, of course, increased casting performance. Suitable for all casting techniques in both sea and fresh water.
