A vertical jigging reel should preferably be very lightweight yet highly durable to adapt to different situations and the many jigging techniques. Various vertical jigging reel models are available, and it's recommended to choose a size 6000/7000 for light jigging or shore jigging, or an 8000 or larger for classic vertical jigging and fishing for large prey. Models with a rotating spool are also available for the various vertical techniques.
