The STNG wiring system is used to connect devices in NMEA2000. One of the advantages of STNG is that the connector ferrules are placed on the back of the displays ; this allows the connector diameter to be smaller and thus be able to pass cables more easily. Products that have STNG connections can be connected to an NMEA2000 network just as NMEA2000 products can be connected to the STNG network using a simple adapter cable.
