Description
The Torqeedo Emergency Magnetic Kill Switch is a magnetic safety device designed to immediately stop the electric motor in an emergency. It is intended for use on Torqeedo systems compatible with the Cruise Tiller and 1918 Throttle control , where an active safety function is required while driving.
The system works via a magnetic connection : if the driver suddenly moves away from the control station, the magnet releases and immediately stops the engine. This reduces the risk of losing control of the vessel in critical situations.
It is particularly suitable for single-handed sailing, port maneuvers, or frequent use of the engine, where a quick stop can prevent collisions or accidents. Installation is simple and requires no structural modifications to the control system.
The kill switch should only be used with compatible Torqeedo systems and as directed, always checking for correct operation before sailing.
