Description

For years, the design section of the brand Seaspin, sought to design a model that would meet the high standards required by the brand and differ from the classic "swimmer" popper shape. None of the various models considered, however, had the same quality of innovation, swimming particularity and catch efficiency that the Toto demonstrated. With the realization of this artificial, precisely because of its aesthetic singularity, but above all because of what it represents in terms of technique, the bar for the design of the latest generation of hard baits is raised considerably. In this case, the design study leaves the naturalistic scheme of imitations of colors or shapes similar to the real thing, to go in search of new profiles and surfaces that are functional to the movement you want the artificial to have in the water. In what, then, does all this innovation consist? In the use of a simple shape but one that involved more than two years of study and testing to place it correctly and have it create complex forces during swimming that cause surprising actions: a hole. In order to properly design the surfaces, especially those in the area around the hole, let's call it the "hole chamber," we decided to use programs dedicated to structural mechanics and fluid dynamics that offered us the ability to simulate various configurations related to the structural behavior of the artificial. (Photo hydrodynamic flows with this caption: "in the 'image are highlighted with different colorations the intensity of the forces exerted by the hydrodynamic flows inside the hole chamber.") We certainly were not the first to put a hollow space inside an artificial, but we wanted to use the surfaces that form it to obtain characteristics that make it difficult to compare with other models on the market. In fact, the two asymmetrical side flares serve to channel more water into the hole chamber, which is used to achieve four distinct results:
1) A pressure on the curved surfaces that form the back of the hole chamber, which causes lateral displacements that increase the wagging of the artificial.
2) A strong turbulence both inside the complex system of the "hole chamber" and outside due to the sharp edges that the latter forms with the outer surface of the artificial. Thanks to this turbulence, the artificial creates a tube of bubbles that disperses in the water, which is significantly higher than that formed by "normal" poppers.
3) A rear brake that slows the artificial when the angler stops the retrieve.
4) A greater control of the lure that allows for a very smooth sub walking action
