Description
See and be seen with built-in AIS
TheRS40-B unit includes a Class B AIS transceiver, which not only receives AIS targets, but also transmits your vessel's position to nearby AIS-equipped vessels. This will enable other boaters to locate your vessel in any condition, day or night. A built-in AIS receiver monitors the position of other AIS-equipped vessels nearby, helping to avoid possible collisions in crowded harbors and channels. AIS information can be displayed on the radio's built-in screen or superimposed on the chart or radar screen using a compatible multifunction display.
RemovableErgonomic Grip Microphone
The RS40-B radio's removable ergonomic grip microphone can be attached to the front or rear of the radio, and optional extension cables allow the radio and microphone to be installed separately. This ensures a simple and cost-effective solution for any installation location without cable tangles. For example, the RS40-B radio can be installed suspended, with no cables hanging down, while the microphone is connected to an extension cord socket on the console.
Expandable with wireless handset
Add an optional HS40 wireless handset to take the radio anywhere on the boat. Each handset duplicates the radio's display and controls, allowing remote access to all major functions. Up to two receivers can be connected to a single RS40-B, and with multiple receivers connected, the radio can also be used as an on-board intercom.
