The Levenhuk Nelson 8x30 marine binoculars is a modern model with quality optics designed especially for use near bodies of water. Nitrogen filling of the body prevents fogging of the lenses. The Levenhuk Nelson 8x30 marine binoculars feature a waterproof, buoyant body: if it were to accidentally end up in water, it would not sink and prisms and lenses would not be damaged. The eyecups, which turn upward, are convenient especially for those who wear glasses. The interpupillary distance is easily adjusted by moving the binoculars' optical tubes closer or farther apart until you can see a single circular field. Diopter adjustment of the eyepieces is also available. Each optical tube of the binoculars has individual focusing, so they do not have a central focusing wheel. The body of the binoculars features a special tripod housing.
The body of the binoculars has a built-in compass and rangefinder. You can see the rangefinder scale in the eyepieces. The compass indicates the direction to the object. The division value is 1°. North is 360°, south is 180°, east is 90° and west is 270°. The compass has illumination that runs on batteries.
The rangefinder is used to calculate the size (height) of the observed object or the distance to it. An unknown parameter can be calculated based on the rangefinder's indications using a special formula.
