Description

Easily adjustable mounting bracket and connection via a single cable allow easy installation aboard any vessel, including mast mounting, ideal for steel-hulled vessels.

Output on heading and ROT via NMEA 2000®

Using NMEA 2000® data, the Simrad Precision-9 compass can provide data on heading, rate of turn (ROT), roll, pitch and jerk to connected equipment including autopilot systems, radar, sonar, multifunction displays and other navigation systems.

Solid-state sensor technology

The Precision-9 compass incorporates a series of highly sophisticated solid-state sensors based on MEMS technology. This high-precision array enables measurements in nine separate axes: heading, attitude, heel, roll, yaw, pitch, soaring, stagger and jerk. Data from all nine axes are used to calculate the most accurate heading and rate-of-turn data possible, avoiding many of the most common limitations of conventional Fluxgate electronic compasses, as well as offering heading accuracy of ±2 degrees after calibration.

Mounting in virtually any location

An easily adjustable mounting bracket allows the Precision-9 compass to be installed in all types of vessels, in virtually any location. The compass can also be mounted directly on any flat surface, and thanks to IPX7-grade waterproofing to avoid magnetic interference in steel-hulled boats, installation can also be made on external masts. Installation is also made easier by NMEA 2000® connectivity via a single cable for power and data.
