The section of the blank that is through the handle, from the butt cup to the first ring is covered by a "shield" of multidirectional 1k SHIELD carbon fiber, which provides 1000 carbon filaments for every cm2 of blank, with a weight 50% less than any other type of wrap, and with a very high stiffness.
This section with an oversized diameter, has the task of stiffening the rod progressively with respect to the applied load, resulting in great prey dragging power and inconsistent deformation during hook setting, with the aim of limiting energy loss. Another function is to literally dampen the oscillations of the tip post cast, a fundamental detail to increase casting distance and its accuracy.
As with all AIRrus of the latest generation, the Stargate uses Multimodular technology (types of carbon fiber with different elongation characteristics) combined in pre-preg with polyacrylonitrile resin Magma Tm for superior resistance to compression and torsion for the blank.

The reel seat is exclusive CUSTOM from AIRrus, designed especially for the Stargate. It is the finalization of research aimed at completely uncovering the blank, leaving it exposed, but at the same time allowing superior ergonomics and performance, allowing the hand to be totally in contact with the carbon for maximum sensitivity while fishing.
The rings chosen are KIGAN ZH (spinning) / ZDH (casting) with stainless steel anti tangle bridge and high heat dispersion COALITE stone. The ZDH third-generation raised micro-guide model, is the result of design cooperation between AIRrus and Kigan, and is the best possible ring for reducing line friction by mounting a very small size ring on a high-profile inclined frame, because it reduces the angle that is generated between line exiting the reel and the first guide. This allows threads over 20 lb to be safely used, which is impossible with normal microguides, and easily allows the passage of knots due to leaders.
These rods because of the very high modulus of carbon fiber used and the extreme action of the blanks are not suitable for beginners.
